BioGill joins Australian Water Mission in India
27-Jun-2011BioGill has been invited to join Austrade’s water mission to India next month. The mission will provide an opportunity to showcase the BioGill technology to Indian companies in the water sector, government officials and key stakeholders including contractors and technical consultants.
India has 16% of the world's population, but comparatively only 2.5% of the earth's land mass and 4% of its water resources. These already limited water resources are depleting rapidly while demands on them are ever increasing.
The potential for BioGills in India is enormous, particularly in sewage treatment, food manufacturing and industrial wastewater,” explained John West, CEO, BioGill.
“BioGill technology offers real advantages for developing countries given the very low operating costs, low energy use and minimal maintenance required to run our systems,” added Mr West.
Industry sources estimate that the Indian water supply and distribution market is worth well over $1 billion.
Austrade, also known as the Australian Trade Commission, is the Australian Government’s trade and investment development agency. The water mission will be held 12-16 July in Ahmedabad and Chennai, India.
